Launched October 1st, 2008, AniMazing Spotlight, and it’s international animation review panel, has been busy all year, giving every entry individualized feedback,selecting Quarterly Awards, and more, all aimed at strengthening their mission to support and promote animated shorts filmmakers.

The November 7th & 8th “Weekend of Animated Shorts” is the culmination of a year’s work, with 44 shorts nominated in 12 categories, the winners to be announced Sunday the 8th, along with the Audience Favorite Award. The top winners will win cash awards, and all winners will be invited to be part of a DVD that ASIFA International, the great granddaddy of all animation societies, will screen at all their chapters around the world.

Besides the screening of nominees, and presentation of awards to the winners, the “Weekend” will also feature several engaging programs, plus a “Meet the Professionals” mixer, where young animators will be able to meet, face to face, men and women experienced professional working in the animation industry.

with rare shorts from the collection of Mark Kausler
